THURROCK Council is delighted to confirm that Thurrock Community Leisure (also known as Impulse Leisure) have been successfully awarded a grant of £416,776 by Sport England as a result of the submission made by the council in partnership with TCL.
The government funding helps to offset the losses experienced by TCL with the closure of the leisure facilities during the pandemic and ensure the centres are ready to reopen in line with the Roadmap on 12 April 2021.
The council has invested over £2 million in its leisure centres over the last 5 years and is looking forward to them reopening next Monday when TCL will welcome back its customers. As part of ongoing discussions, the council is looking forward to working with TCL on new, modern arrangements for the delivery of the leisure facilities in the borough.
