THIS is an interesting ward and this is an interesting three horse race.
It has had UKIP councillors and Thurrock Independent, Graham Hamilton is a former kipper.
Hard-working Chris Baker won it as an Indy in 2019. If Chris was standing, you would fancy the Independents’ chances.
Labour’s Mike Fletcher won it in 2018 but then Labour lost by ten in 2019.
This may depend on how hard the Labour candidate Amin Hoque works between now and May 6th.
There have been plenty of issues in the South Ockendon area, especially planning subjects that could benefit both parties.
This may well be a seat which will depend on who can get their vote out.
The Tory candidate will take votes but from whom?
This looks close (again) but we think the Labour Party will sneak it.
