
THE results of Thurrock Council’s elections have been announced.
Elections took place in 17 of the borough’s 20 wards yesterday (Thursday, 6 May). The results mean the Conservative party is in overall control of the council, with the current breakdown of seats as follows:
- 29 Conservative (held 28 seats, gained 1)
- 16 Labour (held 16 seats, gained 1, lost 1)
- 3 Thurrock Independents (held 3 seats, gained 0)
- 1 Independent (held 1 seat, lost 1)
The overall turnout was 27.34% per cent. The full list of results is available at thurrock.gov.uk/vote2021.
The election for the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) for Essex also took place on Thursday 6 May. The results for the region will be available from Saturday 8 May and will be published online at thurrock.gov.uk.
