Orsett Cock Roundabout closure from Friday 18 to Monday 21 June

The Orsett Cock Roundabout will be closed this weekend for major construction works to bring the new Orsett east bridge into use.

The closure takes place from 9pm on Friday 18 June until 5am on Monday 21 June.

Road users are asked to plan their journey in advance to avoid the area and find alternative routes, avoiding nearby villages.

While the work is carried out, a large section of the roundabout will be closed, including:

A13 eastbound exit slip road closed
A128 northbound from Orsett Roundabout closed
A128 southbound towards Orsett Roundabout closed
A13 eastbound entry slip road closed
A13 westbound exit slip road closed
A1013 junction closed eastbound only (east of Orsett Roundabout)
From Monday 21 June, the Orsett Roundabout will have a new, temporary road layout in place, with the new Orsett east bridge in use and changes to the slip roads.

The work is part of the A13 Road Widening Project. The project includes widening the road between Stanford-le-Hope and Orsett, replacing four bridges and installing traffic lights at the Orsett Roundabout to help manage vehicle flows.
