THURROCK Adult Community College is delighted to report that eight adults from Thurrock Adult Community College’s part-time Counselling Level 3 Diploma course have now accepted places to continue their studies at University in September.
Delivered online during the pandemic, these adult learners have continued to overcome challenges to achieve their dream of pursuing a Counselling career, with many reporting they want to give back to a profession that has helped them personally in the past. All eight learners have progressed from previous Counselling courses with the college or from the free Wellbeing and Confidence building sessions with four others also studying for a GCSE alongside their diploma. Another has enjoyed the course so much that they’ve shown an interest in returning to teaching in the future, specifically Counselling skills to adult learners.
Counselling is a useful skill in many professions – be inspired to start your own learning journey, register your interest today for the next part-time courses starting in September. Courses may also be free with new adult skills funding available for Level 3 (if you have not studied at this level or higher before). Courses up to, and including, Level 2 may be free for learners on a low income or state benefits with a discretionary learner support fund (DSLF) available for those in financial hardship that can be applied to for course/exam fees, travel, equipment and childcare costs.
