ORTU Gable Hall School were pleased to invite parents back to an exciting open evening event on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th October, with teachers and student representatives on hand to talk about what life at the school is like.
Prospective students, along with their families and friends, attended an exciting evening with information from Headteacher, Mr Ceri Evans. Mr Evans gave an emotive speech to those interested in attending the school, laying out the school’s ambitions, what students can expect from the school and their next journey in education, whilst acknowledging how challenging the previous 18 months has been.
In usual Gable Hall style, the corridors were packed with art, music and excided chat amongst students, families, and teachers while classrooms opened their doors to show off how interesting learning can be with teachers and heads of departments all on hand to answer questions.
Mr Ceri Evans said: “Open evenings are a symbol of how we like to work at Gable Hall. Direct communication with parents, leaders accessible to students, open doors and creating space and time for questions and answers.
“Without going over what we already know, the last 18 months has been tough and has tested all of us. But standing in front of hundreds of people and talking about our school, it’s achievements and how important we take our role in supporting the next generation despite those challenges is a humbling moment for me. To see how we’ve all pulled together in success, is something our students and community should be proud of.
“As always, we refuse to stand still, and will continue moving towards improvement and to explain our vision to our future students is exciting.”
Ortu Gable Hall School would like to thank all prospective parents and students for attending the open evening, and invite any questions or queries regarding Year 7 admissions to email
