THIS week, two staff members at Lakeside Shopping Centre were awarded LPA Commander Commendations for maintaining a safe environment when dealing with a crisis earlier this year.
The Lakeside staff members are Adam Hillsden, a Security Officer, and Aaron Brett, a Duty Manager who has worked at the centre for 31 years, since it opened back in 1990.
Awarded by the Essex Police, the Commendations recognise their brave and heroic actions in response to an incident that involved the safety and wellbeing of a visitor inside the centre.
Following the news of the Commendations, Adam and Aaron commented: “We both feel completely honoured and grateful for this recognition. When an incident occurs, it’s a natural response to act fast and do what you can to help. In this scenario we’re thrilled we were able to play our part and help the customer.”
“I couldn’t be prouder of Adam and Aaron for their incredible response to the incident” said Howard Oldstein, centre director at Lakeside.
“The Commendations are an honour for them both, but also for the wider team here at Lakeside. Our staff consistently go above and beyond to ensure the safety of our customers and fellow staff members, and for that I can’t express enough praise and thanks.”
