TO kick off the year, Lakeside welcomed rising social media star, known publicly as ‘Lauren Jumps’, to the centre for their first exciting collaboration of 2022. During her visit, Lauren was challenged to showcase a series of fitness fashion pieces from a variety of retailers, while doing what she does best – skipping!
Back in April 2020, when the first lockdown of the pandemic began, Lauren took to TikTok and Instagram to share her short skipping videos. Posting to stay accountable for the exercise that she was enjoying in her own back garden, she began to show remarkable progress week on week, while inspiring many others to stay active for their own mental and physical wellbeing along the way.
Since then, Lauren has racked up an astounding 800,000 followers on Instagram and 402,000 followers on TikTok, where she continues to share her incredibly impressive jump rope footwork, detailed tutorials and smooth transition edits, all while using a series of jump ropes which form part of her own online collection, available at www.doperopes.co.uk.
With numbers growing every month, Lauren has since made global headlines on numerous occasions, and worked with big-name brands such as Marks and Spencer and Sports Direct.
To showcase the huge range of leisure and activewear available at Lakeside, Lauren created one of her popular jump rope transition videos at a series of locations inside and outside the shopping centre.
For the video, Carlene Noel, who runs the Lakeside Personal Stylist and Shopper Service, styled Lauren in five fantastic outfits, picked up from Victoria’s Secret PINK, H&M, New Look, House of Fraser, Kurt Geiger, Primark and River Island.
