TEAM Tevva members are pictured with Port of Tilbury’s John Speakman and Thurrock MP Jackie Doyle-Price, after they took our truck to the Port.
They were there recently to discuss potential future partnerships with London’s principal and ‘greenest’ port, where the vast majority of the capital’s building materials and other bulk cargos arrive into the UK. Tilbury is also one of the UK’s only Freeports, a government initiative designed to boost economic activity at ports.

Ms Doyle-Price, whose constituency is where Tevva’s UK manufacturing base is located, climbed on board our truck to get a closer look at the future of freight.
She said: “I was inspired by the vision and ambition that Tevva has, to develop a range of electric trucks which will transform the way so many companies do business. I am also very excited that their manufacturing base, Tevva London, is in Tilbury.
“As we all prepare for a zero-carbon future we will have to transform the way we do business and I look forward to Tilbury and the Thames Freeport to be a hub for these new technological industries. That Tevva has chosen Tilbury as its preferred location is a real vote of confidence. I look forward to supporting them in future.”
Tevva Commercial Director Richard Lidstone-Scott confirmed that the meeting was a positive meeting of minds.
“We knew Tilbury was the perfect location for our first manufacturing base, a move that will bring more than 1,000 new jobs to the area”, he said. “Our meeting at the Port proved to be very fruitful and we look forward, where possible, to working with Tilbury in the future.”
Commenting on the visit, John Speakman, Snr Asset Manager for Property from the Port of Tilbury said: “We welcome the Tevva team to the port today and look forward to a strong relationship going forward. Tevva’s Truck is very impressive to see and we can envision many opportunities for Tevva and the port to work together in the future.
“As the UK’s greenest port, we pride ourselves on our focus to support the drive to net zero through greener supply chains and operations. We wish Tevva every success with their new facility.”
