ESSEX Police attended Davey Down nature reserve after reports of off road bikes racing and scaring dog walkers.
Officers stopped 25 persons with 13 off road bikes and issued 16 section 59 warnings in 2 hours. They also seized one bike for a second section 59 offence within 12 months.
If you are seen driving or riding in an anti-social manner, or causing annoyance to the local community, Essex Police has power under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 to seize and remove your vehicle or place a warning (on the first occasion) on both you and your vehicle which lasts for 12 months.
This warning would apply to you and any vehicle you drive or ride, as well as your vehicle and anyone who drives or rides it throughout that 12-month period.
