Very first Big Bucket Week announced by St. Luke’s Hospice in lead up to International Nurses Day

ST. Luke’s Hospice is excited to announce its very first Big Bucket Week fundraiser, which is being held in the lead up to International Nurses Day.

From Friday 6th May until Friday 13th May, the Hospice will be holding fundraising collections in the local community, at train stations and in supermarkets to raise funds to help them continue providing specialist palliative and end of life care for local people and their families.

International Nurses Day takes place on Thursday 12th May and is a global day of recognition for the profession.

The care and support provided by St. Luke’s Hospice enables patients to be supported in the community, either in their own homes or in a care home environment, while also proudly working in partnership with Marie Curie and SPDNS Homecare. Two thirds of Hospice community patients never visit St. Luke’s Hospice but are able to experience the ethos, care and support of the Hospice in their own homes.

Big Bucket Week collections will take place at various locations across Basildon, Thurrock and London in support of St. Luke’s Hospice, with collectors at the following venues on the dates noted below during May:

·       Friday 6th – Liverpool Street Station

·       Saturday 7th – Eastgate Shopping Centre and Basildon Town Centre

·       Monday 9th – Morrison’s Corringham

·       Tuesday 10th – Morrison’s Grays

·       Wednesday 11th – Pitsea Market

·       Thursday 12th – Fenchurch Street Station

·       Friday 13th – Morrison’s Corringham and Asda Tilbury

Everyone is invited to support the collections to help make the week a huge success.

As a registered charity St. Luke’s Hospice is reliant on the generosity of the community to ensure the continued provision of specialist palliative and end of life care, where and when it is needed the most.
