Belhus: Six wicket haul for Ray Toole

Belhus 1st X1: 189

Brentwood 1st XI 132 (Ray Toole 6-38)

IN the second Hamro Foundation Essex League match of the season at North Stifford, Belhus 1st XI batted first and posted what looked like an under-par total of 189 as Danny Joyce led the way with 45.In their run-chase after tea, Brentwood CC failed to make any headway towards the required target as paceman, Ray Toole bowled superbly to take 6 for 38 from 10 overs (his maiden ‘5for’ for the club) supported by tight spells from Shane Barwick (7-1-10-1) and Dan Norris (8-1-26-2).

Elsewhere in the Essex leagues, there were wins for the Belhus 3rd, 4th and 5th XIs but the 2nd XI came up short away at Old Brentwoods.

The Belhus 3rd XI had a thrilling win by 4 runs away at Upminster where the mighty efforts of Imran Mohammed (54 not out), and Simon Walker (45 not out), saw Belhus clinch victory on the last ball. Hussain Katariwala (54 not out), ensured a home win for the Belhus 4th XI v Southend & EMT with newcomer to the Belhus 5th XI, Adam Martin posting an impressive 112 runs to see the Belhus 5th XI over the line against Billericay.
