A Colchester-based autism charity has been boosted by a £1,000 donation from Amazon in Tilbury.
Autism Anglia is an independent charity that provides care, support & education to autistic children, adults, and their families in East Anglia.
Amazon’s donation to Autism Anglia will be put towards improving outdoor play equipment at their specialist autism school in Colchester. Autism Anglia’s Doucecroft School is a specialist co-educational school for children and young people with autism and additional complex needs.
Ruzanna Sargsyan, General Manager at Amazon in Tilbury, said:
“It is our pleasure to offer this donation to Autism Anglia and we hope that this will help the charity to continue to provide excellent support for people with autism.”
Kate Hancock, Chief Executive from Autism Anglia, added:
“A big thank you goes to the Amazon team in Tilbury for supporting us with this donation. It means the world to us that companies like Amazon want to support our charity, and we are extremely grateful.”
The donation to Autism Anglia was made as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses, as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than five million healthy breakfasts to families in England.
