THE sun shone to welcome the visitors back to the Orsett Show which returned to the Orsett Showground after a two year break on Saturday, 3rd September.

An ice-cream or cold drink was the order of the day as visitors wandered around the traditional marquees of crafts, horticulture, schools, hobbies & handicrafts and Essex Beekeepers. Animal lovers could enter their dogs in the Dog Agility, visit Hadleigh Farm, watch the Sheep Show, see the cattle walking proudly around the cattle marquee and watch the terrier racing etc.

The catering stalls and The Pantry  provided an opportunity to grab a bite to eat and listen to the music provided by the Swingtime Sweethearts, Tilbury Brass Band and the wonderful performers on the main stage.  These were just some of the attractions available to enjoy.

The Port of Tilbury was the Headline Sponsor once again and Paul Dale, Asset and Site Director of The Port of Tilbury said: “What a brilliant day it was at the Orsett show on Saturday. After a gap of two years due to the pandemic, it was great to have our team back at the showground with our stand. As a major employer in Thurrock, we were honoured to be the main sponsor of this fantastic community event. Well done to all the organisers, it was a great event!”

Georgina Clark Show Secretary said “We would like to thank the Port of Tilbury for their continued support of the Orsett Show and we were delighted to be able to have a Show this year.  We hope that everyone who visited the Show had a great day.

Show Day would not happen without the support of our Sponsors, Traders and the great team of volunteers who work tirelessly not only on the day but the period leading up to it.  Without their support the Show would not be the success it is. Thank you all”

Next year’s Show is 2nd September 2023.
