Thurrock’s Yamaguchi Goju host major Judo event

THURROCK’s Yamaguchi Goju-Kai Club hosted our association Karate Kumite Tournament in Thurrock on the 25th September, the Venue was ideal it was the Bagmington Sports Hall at William Edwards School, the large Sports Hall was able to set up four competition areas with seating for over 300 spectators.

200 students competed from 23 clubs and associations that attended the event, 3 National coaches attended as the Tournament was ideal as a grassroots competition for future Karate athletes.

The Club did very well resulting in being second on the medal table.

Gold Kata: Jayne Trigg, Cindy Barber, Ruby Grellier,

Silver Kata: Peter Livett, Annie Alderton, Julie Perry, Daniel Barber, Bobby Ellis.

Bronze Kata: Lucas Perry, Ananda Clifton-Smith, Shea Frith, Braydon Falconer, Jezica Garingarao, Alex Falconer, Chet Chauhan .

Gold Kumite: Amy Raven.

Silver Kumite: Becky Harvey, Matthew Chambers, Michael Barber, Arnes Hadzic.

Bronze Kumite: Annie Alderton, Melissa McDonald, Troy Borges, Talia Graves.

Kata Pairs: Gold Julie & Lucas.

Silver: Cindy and Daniel.

Bronze: Lily & Daisy. Annie & Ananda.

Slam man Gold: Tomas Guditas, Daniel Barber, Nikolas Hima.

Slam man Silver: Keelan Perry, Finley Frazer.
