ABBOTS Hall Primary Academy in Corringham has opened its new library that has been created thanks to funding from by DP World London Gateway port.
The investment provides an enticing new library for the children to develop their love of reading and a new space as Abbots Hall grows in size. Soon it will accommodate up to 480 children.
In 2022 Abbots Hall Parent Teacher Association set their sights on supporting the school in developing a new library for their children.
“The PTA are always looking for ways to support the school. It’s important that parents can see how their donations at events can help improve the school for all our children,” says Sharyn Derrick, a member of the PTA.
Working in partnership with the headteacher, and through a donation of £15,000 from DP World, they were able to officially open the space yesterday (Monday, 17 February).
