Celebrate the Coronation at Down Hall Hotel, Spa & Estate

CELEBRATE the Coronation of King Charles III with a royal-inspired staycation at Down Hall Hotel, Spa & Estate. Set amidst the beautiful Essex countryside only 45 minutes from London, the historic country house hotel will be hosting a quintessentially British afternoon tea experience on the front terrace and lawns, as well as offering 20% off* room rates from the 4th – 8th May.

Inspired by the regal décor of the hotel’s 19th century Italianate mansion and stunning surroundings, the ‘Tea Fit for a King’ experience will feature an exquisite selection of dainty finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with clotted cream and Tiptree jams, and beautifully crafted sweet treats. Perfect
for the whole family to enjoy, begin with classics of Scottish smoked salmon with dill mayonnaise; caramelised red onion and brie tart; and, fittingly, Coronation chicken; before delighting your sweet tooth with the Royal Family’s favourite – a chocolate biscuit
cake; as well as lemon cream eclairs; and English rose and white chocolate mousse. Soak up the sunshine while sipping on an assortment of classic and seasonal teas, or why not raise a glass to the King with a Martini, his favourite tipple!*

The afternoon tea is priced at £40 Monday to Friday (served 2-5:30pm) and £42.50 on the weekend (served 1–5:30pm) with children under 12 dining for
half price. Guests visiting on the day of the Coronation (Saturday, 6th
May) can watch history unfold on the large TV screens placed throughout the hotel.

Want to sleep like a King? Make your visit truly one to remember by booking a stay in one of the hotel’s beautiful rooms, each designed to reflect
the elegance and character of this historic property. After a restful night’s sleep, enjoy a delicious breakfast before taking a stroll around the hotel’s picturesque 110-acre grounds. Bed & Breakfast room rates start from £172 per room, based on double occupancy.
