Home Office to separate Nigerian mum from daughter, 5, who faces deportation

A DEVASTATED mother and daughter were told they would be separated as she’s forced to battle being deported from the UK by the Home Office while her child instead would be sent to Nigeria reports The Voice Online.

The mother, from Thurrock, has lived in the UK for 19 years after leaving Nigeria at 16-years-old. Now having built a family and made friends, she applied to leave to remain in the country permanently.

According to immigration law, people must have lived in the country for 20 years or more before being able to apply for remain status in the UK.
