Police make three arrests as part of Grays murder investigation

OFFICERS investigating the death of a man in Grays have made three further arrests as part of their investigation.

We were called to an incident at an address close to New Road, Grays, shortly after 3.40am on Friday 6 October.

Officers arrived and found a disturbance had taken place and a man had sustained a serious injury.

Despite the efforts of medics at the scene, the man sadly died.

An investigation was launched by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate who continue to work hard to establish the circumstances around this incident.

Today, Sunday 8 October, officers have made two arrests as part of their investigation – a 31-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman who have both been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

This follows an arrest made on Saturday 7 October, when a 21-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

All arrests are in addition to the arrest of a 21-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Currently, all four remain in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Terry Balding said: “This has been a fast-moving investigation, with four arrests, and we will continue to work at pace to identify the circumstances that lead to this man’s death.

“We continue to believe that this is an isolated incident but appreciate that it’s a concerning time for the community.

“I would continue to encourage anyone with information to come forward to officers who are supporting the community with high-visibility patrols today and speak to us.”
