A MAN has been charged with fraud and driving offences after a car and bank card were stolen in Harlow.
On 21 September a suspect has stolen a car from a property in Halling Hill. The suspect has then taken the debit card inside the car and made several purchases across the town.
This was reported to our officers and investigation was opened. Then, as part of our proactive work targeting car theft in Grays, on Wednesday 11 October we arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with a separate offence.
Officers charged Moses Brinkley, 44, of Buckles Lane, South Ockendon, with three counts of fraud, theft from a vehicle, driving without a licence, and taking a motor vehicle without consent.
He appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Friday 13 October and was remanded in custody until his next court hearing at a later date.
District Commander Paul Austin said: “This arrest shows the benefits to our officers working with colleagues across our districts to target a specific crime.
“Vehicle crime can have a large impact on the lives of victims and we are working hard to catch those responsible across Essex.”
