ESSEX Police are renewing our appeal for witnesses and information after two pedestrians were left seriously injured following a collision with a vehicle in Grays.

Officers were called by ambulance service colleagues to the scene of a collision in Dock Road, at the junction with Marshfoot Road, shortly after 8.15pm on Wednesday 8 November.

The vehicle involved left the scene and enquiries are continuing at pace to find it.

Two women have been taken to hospital with serious injuries and continue to receive treatment.

Detective Sergeant Steve Holmes, of our Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “The two women involved in this collision were crossing the road, at the crossing between Dock Road and Marshfoot Road, shortly before 8.15pm on Wednesday 8 November.

“They were involved in a collision with what witnesses have described as a black saloon car, potentially a BMW.

“We are urgently looking to find this vehicle and are carrying out a number of enquiries to do so.
“Anyone with any information, or anyone who witnessed this incident, is asked to come forward.
“In particular, I would ask anyone in the area who has been asked to make repairs to a vehicle with visible front-end damage over the past 24 hours to consider this appeal, and whether the vehicle matches the description given by witnesses.”

Investigating officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything or have any CCTV footage from the area to contact us, quoting incident number 1095 of 8 November.
