A SUSPECT was detained and a stolen vehicle recovered after a theft was reported to police in Hockley.
A spokesperson said: “We received a call shortly before 12.24am today (Friday 2 January) reporting the theft of a Range Rover from a driveway in the area of Main Road.
Thanks to swift work responding to the call, officers were on the tail of the stolen vehicle and in pursuit within ten minutes.
The vehicle was involved in a collision in West Thurrock Way, Grays, and one person, a 21-year-old man, was detained by 12.41am.
Investigative work continues in this case to locate other persons of interest.
