The Big Help Out comes to East of England and Thames Valley this June

THE UK’s biggest ever day of mass volunteering – The Big Help Out – is making a return from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 June 2024.

An incredible 35,000 voluntary organisations and 2,000 businesses took part in The Big Help Out during the King’s Coronation weekend in May last year, lending a hand and making a difference in their local communities.

We know at the NSPCC how vital volunteers are, so we were thrilled when many of you in the East of England and Thames Valley signed up to take part in The Big Help Out last year with us.

We rely on volunteers to help raise funds, and to help deliver essential messages to children and families. Our fundraising volunteers work tirelessly to set up raffles, bake sales, concerts and other events to support children, young people and families. Whether they’re bringing in £100 or several thousand, every penny goes to support services which can improve the lives of young people. Our volunteers are essential in enabling us to be here for all children.

In 2024 The Big Help Out team are aiming to build on the success and legacy of 2023 to mobilise millions of people to help out in their communities, and return to or discover volunteering.

The Big Help Out is one of several initiatives led by the ‘Shaping the Future with Volunteering’, a coalition of over thirty charities.
