EXAMINATION outcomes for Year 11 students at Hassenbrook Academy continue to go from strength to strength as Year 11 students celebrate some outstanding GCSE grades as a result of their hard work.
Mrs Sally Feeney, Principal of Hassenbrook Academy said: “We are extremely proud of the hard work and effort that Year 11 have put in to achieving these results and would of course like to thank our students, their parents, staff and governors for their efforts in securing another year of improved results. We wish all of our Year 11 students every success as they go off to their Post-16 destinations, and hope that they will stay in touch to let us know what they are doing. These results follow a successful year where Ofsted also recognised the improvements that are being made here and the opportunities we provide for our students, so we are delighted to share students’ results with them today.”
Students achieving a grade 4 and above in Maths has increased by a staggering 14% this year, and those achieving a grade 5 or above has also increased by 7% with the Maths department seeing overall significant gains in student progress. We are also proud to report a 10% improvement in numbers of students leaving school with both English and Maths GCSEs at grade 4 and above.
Those students who took Spanish are also celebrating today with some outstanding results with some of those students going on to take Spanish post 16. We are proud to report that over a quarter of students achieved a phenomenal grade 7 or above.
The Chair of the Ortu Trust, Georgina Clark said ‘I am delighted with these results which reflect the continuing improvements at the school which were justly recognised in the last Ofsted inspection. Mrs Feeney leads an extremely dedicated team of teachers who work tirelessly to support each young person to achieve their best. I believe we have establish a sound foundation upon which the Mossbourne Federation can build when they take control of Hassenbrook in October’.

Emily Jack with a grade 8, 3 grade 7s, 3 grade 6s and a level 2 Distinction
Quyum Oladipupo with 4 grade 8s, 3 grade 7s and a level 2 Merit.
