
A £1bn investment in a Thurrock port will take place, despite a row over comments made about the owner of P&O Ferries, the business secretary has said reports the BBC.
It had been suggested DP World might shelve the plan after Transport Secretary Louise Haigh described P&O Ferries as a “rogue operator”.
But Jonathan Reynolds told the BBC DP World’s plan to expand its London Gateway port “will go ahead”.
The row had threatened to overshadow a major government summit starting on Monday, at which ministers want to showcase investment into the UK.

Oh great, yet more container trains running through Grays. Pity the council cancelled the underpass project at Grays station, as the barriers will be down for more time than they’re up! I’d like to know how many more lorries this will mean on our roads each day? The expansion may be good for the country but it’s bad news for getting around in Thurrock.
