WORLD Kindness Day encouraged people across the UK to ‘make kindness the norm’, whether at school, at work or even at home. The annual event helps to highlight that just one small kind gesture can have a lasting positive impact.
Barratt and David Wilson Homes donated craft pens and rocks to the primary phase of Helena Romanes School, where 60 pupils decorated their own rocks with positive messages to be displayed in the community.

The housebuilder has invited the school’s pupils to display their rocks at its nearby development, Great Dunmow Grange, for local residents to read.
James Terry, Teacher at Helena Romanes School, said: “The children loved taking part in the project and showing off their creativity. It was so lovely to see the children embedding our school values of kindness and broadmindedness into an art project that the whole community will enjoy.”
The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation is a non-profit organisation that invests its resources into making kindness the ‘norm’. It is rooted in the belief that everyone can connect through kindness, and that kindness can be taught.
Tom Wright, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties, said: “Kindness is so important and should be practised all the time. We wanted to bring further awareness to the campaign with the help of the pupils at Helena Romanes School.
“As a leading homebuilder, we aim to engage with and support local communities and charities as much as possible and we hope this activity has allowed the school’s pupils to have fun while learning about the importance of kindness.”
