Purfleet man charged over series of burglaries in South Ockendon

FIVE charges have been secured against a man following a series of burglaries across a single night in South Ockendon.

The reports related to incidents which took place between the hours of 3am and 5.30am on Tuesday 10 June.

One of the burglaries saw two cars stolen from outside an address in Gatehope Drive.

On the afternoon of Sunday 22 June, one of the stolen vehicles was stopped in Romford following a pursuit and a man arrested.

Three charges of burglary and two charges of attempted burglary have since been secured against Aaron Martin, 22, of Watts Crescent, Purfleet.

He appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 24 June, where he was remanded in custody until a hearing at Basildon Crown Court on 21 July.

These charges illustrate our commitment to tackle home burglaries.
