DIY home renovations have always been popular, but in 2025, homeowners are taking them to new heights. With summer approaching, it’s the perfect time to refresh your home by creating a welcoming, comfortable environment.

Many Britons are embracing calming earthy tones and minimalist designs, making it one of the top trends on Google. Filipa, a 38-year-old mum, wanted to bring this peaceful look into her home. As an HR director, she had an eye for design, and loved the Pinterest aesthetic, but with a busy career and budget in mind, she didn’t want to overspend. That’s when she discovered Temu, an ecommerce platform with quality and affordable options to bring her vision to life – without breaking the bank.

Filipa has been taking up interior decor projects and sharing her work on Instagram since 2020. More recently, she decided to use her skills in her own space and redecorate some rooms using Temu.

“I have been doing interior decoration for quite some time now, so I know a few shops that I like and trust, but their products tend to be quite expensive,” Filipa said “When I was redecorating my house, I didn’t want to spend a lot of money — I have a young son to take care of — so I decided to do my shopping from Temu.  They have so many options for such a good price. ”

Of all her purchases from Temu, her favourites are the lampshade in the ground floor hallway, the books she got for the hall and the office, and the shell vase.

“I spent under £200 and it’s like I have a new house now. My family also loves the re-decor.”

UK households could save up to £3,000 annually by shopping on direct-from-factory platforms like Temu, according to a study by the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR)

A recent IPSOS survey found that British consumers are overwhelmingly positive about Temu, with over 8 in 10 Temu users in the UK say the platform offers good value. Three-quarters of respondents extremely likely to recommend the platform to others. Surveyed consumers report that Temu has saved them on average 25% in 2024, with 1 in 3 respondents saying Temu helped them explore decorating their home.

With the growing number of local sellers on Temu, 50% of its UK sales are expected to come from local sellers and warehouses by the end of 2025. This enables British consumers to access a wider range of products with delivery times as fast as one working day.

Filipa suggests all home decor enthusiasts shop around and compare products and prices before buying anything. Sometimes, the smallest things like a vase or some books can change the vibe of the entire space and make it look like a whole new room.

“I love neutral colours and creating relaxing spaces; this redecoration helped me do that,” she said. “I’m so glad what came out, with the support.”
