ST. Luke’s Hospice is thrilled to have received a £1,000 grant from Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards thanks to heartfelt nominations from the public.

The £1,000 donation is part of Benefact Group’s annual campaign, which gives over £1 million to charities and good causes across the UK. This generous donation to St. Luke’s Hospice will help support the continued provision of compassionate palliative and end of life care for those in South West Essex whose illnesses are no longer curable.

This vital care is delivered via 16 services, supporting patients and loved ones both in the Hospice and in the community. The care St. Luke’s Hospice provides can include support with pain and symptom management, respite, essential outpatient procedures, specialist equipment to support independence at home, and support for emotional wellbeing.

Sarah Marshall Keenes, Philanthropy and Trusts Manager at St. Luke’s Hospice, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards, and to all those who kindly nominated us, for helping us to receive £1,000 towards the delivery of specialist palliative and end of life care in South West Essex.

“This generous donation will help to ensure we can continue to care for local people whose illnesses are no longer curable, delivering care with compassion and dignity, and helping people to live as well as possible for as long as possible.”

Mark Hews, Group Chief Executive of Benefact Group, said: “We want to thank everyone who nominated a good cause for our Movement for Goods Awards. Benefact Group is owned by a charity, and giving back is at the heart of everything we do – all our available profits go to good causes. Our mission is simple: the more we grow, the more we can give.

“It’s a privilege to support this incredible organisation, who are making such a difference in their community. We know £1,000 can go a long way in changing lives, and we can’t wait to see the impact this funding will have.”
