Basildon Borough to come together in honour of Remembrance Sunday

RESIDENTS across Basildon are invited to attend this year’s Remembrance Sunday commemorations on Sunday 9 November, taking place at locations throughout the borough.

Services will honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve in the Armed Forces, defending our freedoms and protecting our way of life.

Events will include marches featuring local Armed Forces members, veterans, cadet groups, and representatives from the emergency services. Each service will include speeches, wreath-laying ceremonies, and a minute’s silence at 11am to remember the fallen.

Cllr Allan Davies, Mayor of Basildon, said:

“Remembrance Sunday is a deeply significant day for our community – a moment when we stand side by side to reflect, remember, and give thanks to all who have served our nation with honour and bravery.

“I encourage everyone to join together at one of our services across the borough to pay tribute to those whose courage and sacrifice have secured the freedoms we enjoy today.”

Residents are warmly encouraged to come together in reflection and remembrance at one of the following locations:

  • Billericay High Street – 10am
  • Howard Diamond Jubilee Park, Pitsea – 10.50am
  • St Chad’s Church, Vange – 10.50am
  • Wickford Memorial Park – 10am
  • Laindon War Memorial – 3pm
