Grays man in court over thefts from BP station on A13

A GRAYS man has appeared in court, accused of stealing more than £800 of alcohol, after an investigation by Thurrock Neighbourhood Policing Team.

James Prentice, 44, of Chestnut Avenue, has admitted 12 counts of shop theft, involving numerous bottles of wine and claret stolen from the BP Orsett Cock petrol station on the westbound A13 between 9 October and 18 November 2025.

He is due to be sentenced by Basildon magistrates on 23 January 2026.
