ON 4 December 2025, officers from the Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) team, working in partnership with the Legal team, successfully secured a Full Closure Order at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court for a property in Lee Chapel North.
The order prohibits anyone from entering the property for a period of three months, with the exception of Basildon Council officers and the emergency services. This decisive action follows persistent reports of anti-social behaviour linked to the address, including excessive noise and aggressive and violent behaviour, which had a significant negative impact on the local community.

The Closure Order has been put in place to protect residents and restore peace to the area. The property will remain secured for the duration of the order, and anyone found entering the premises without authorisation will be committing an arrestable offence.
Cllr Kerry Smith, Cabinet Member for Law, Order and Enforcement, said:
“Residents have a right to feel safe and secure in their own neighbourhoods. This Closure Order demonstrates our commitment to protecting the community and supporting those who have been affected by persistent anti-social behaviour.
“We are grateful to local residents and the police for working with us to take action and restore confidence in the area. We will continue to work closely with our partners to take firm and decisive action against those who make life miserable for others.”
