THE Essex Construction Alliance, part of the Essex Growth Agency, has announced the return of the hugely successful Essex Build Expo, as the county continues to be a leading hub for major housing and infrastructure projects in the UK.

Essex Build Expo 2026 is set to shine a spotlight on the projects shaping Essex’s future and growth.

These include the Lower Thames Crossing, one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure investments, and multiple Garden Community developments.

With billions of pounds being invested in roads, housing and commercial developments, Essex Build 2026 has been designed as a gateway to new networks, partnerships and growth opportunities for local businesses in the sector.

The event, which will take place on Friday 6 March at Hylands House, Chelmsford, follows on from the success of the inaugural Essex Build Expo last year.

This brought together over 425 attendees, 53 exhibitors and delivered presentations from over 25 industry professionals.

2026’s event, which will feature a dedicated Women in Construction zone, promises attendees even more opportunities to connect, learn and grow.

Highlights will include:

Meet the Buyer sessions – connect directly with organisations delivering major projects
Free workshops and seminars on procurement, safety, sustainability and winning work in Essex
Network with industry leaders and decision-makers from across Essex
An extensive exhibition showcasing leading suppliers, contractors and innovators
Essex’s construction sector contributes around £5.6 billion annually to the UK economy and employs around 65,000 people.

Major projects like the Lower Thames Crossing will create thousands of jobs and supply chain opportunities.

Essex is a leading region implementing the Garden Communities concept to manage large-scale growth sustainably, balancing housing needs with environmental quality and strong community infrastructure.

The county is investing in skills, innovation and sustainability to future-proof the industry as the sector is forecast to grow by over 30% by 2040.

Councillor Louise McKinlay said: “Essex Build is about more than celebrating the success of the building industry – it’s about unlocking opportunities for local businesses in the sector, creating more jobs and driving growth across Essex.

“With projects like the Lower Thames Crossing and several Garden Community developments on the horizon, this event is a must-attend for businesses in construction looking to play a part in shaping Essex’s future.”
