SPECIALIST officers are investigating following a fatal collision in Aveley.
We were called with reports of a collision involving two vehicles – a blue Mini Cooper and a black Kia Picanto – in Ship Lane, close to Thurrock Football Club, at 11.05pm yesterday (Tuesday 20 January).
Sadly, the passenger in the Mini – an 18 year-old man – died at the scene.
The driver of the Mini – an 18 year-old man – and the driver of the Kia – a man in his 60s – have both been taken to hospital for treatment on serious injuries.
The road has been closed while our officers investigate the incident and this closure is impacting on the A13.
We expect the road to remain closed into this morning’s rush hour and urge people to avoid the area and plan their journey.
