TILBURY made two changes to the starting line-up from the previous week’s win against Brightlingsea with Joe Elliott and Ronnie Winn replacing Josh Taylor and Tyler Forbes for Saturday’s (28 March) Isthmian North clash reports Mason Hutchinson.

The visiting Jockeys took the lead after just six minutes when Oscar Dean carried the ball into space on the edge of the area, before drilling his strike into the bottom right-hand corner.

It took until the 46th minute before Tilbury had their first sight of goal as a deep cross was sent in towards Jake Brocklebank. The midfielder’s header was saved, and Lester Ward was unable to turn home the rebound, with his effort being cleared off the line by Josh Coulson.

Dockers continued to search for the equaliser, with Joe Elliott’s long throws causing problems for Newmarket’s back line. In the 80th minute, a throw was nodded on towards Jack Hayes, but the skipper couldn’t connect with the volley.

Three minutes into stoppage time, Soumen Nandi hooked the ball back into the box following a free-kick. Ayo Odukoya’s header was blocked, Dan Trendall’s bicycle kick was denied, but the ball landed at the feet of captain Hayes, who bundled the ball over the line to salvage a point.

SQUAD: Lawlor, Fry (Odukoya), Winn, Reeve, Hayes, Brocklebank (Agyiri), Nandi, Trendall, Toussaint, Elliott, Ward (Northwood). SUBS UNUSED: East, Weston.
