A MISCONDUCT hearing has found a former police officer would have been dismissed had he not already resigned from the force.
The gross misconduct hearing heard allegations against former-PC Alan Roscoe relating to controlling and coercive behaviour as well as an incident in October 2024 at his home address where damage was caused to items within the property, and where his actions led to injury to another officer.

The allegations were heard on Monday 8 June at the Civic Centre, Chelmsford, at a hearing chaired by Assistant Chief Officer Fiona Henderson.
The Chair found all the allegations proven and that former-PC Roscoe had breached the professional standards of behaviour relating to:
Authority, Respect and Courtesy
(Discreditable) Conduct
The panel determined that the former officer would have been dismissed from the force had he not already resigned, and will therefore be placed on the College of Policing barred list.
ACO Henderson said:
“The panel concluded that the breach of the standards of professional behaviour amounted to gross misconduct, and that it was so serious as to justify dismissal, had the former officer not already resigned from the force.
“The behaviour displayed by former-PC Roscoe showed a lack of self-control, tolerance, and respect, which are standards that we expect all officers and staff to uphold to the highest degree whether they are on or off duty.
“His behaviours risk undermining the trust and confidence that our public have in our professionalism as a force and in our ability to deal with such behaviours in the community.
“We will continue to deal robustly with officers and staff who act in an unacceptable manner.”
