AN Essex Police officer has been dismissed following an accelerated misconduct hearing.
On Monday 22 June, Chief Constable Ben-Julian Harrington determined that former PC Annabelle Shaker had committed gross misconduct across several areas.

This included failing to comply with lawful management instructions, not attending meetings with supervisors, and behaving in a manner that was rude and abusive towards colleagues.
Her behaviour towards colleagues was described as obstructive, dismissive and, on occasions, verbally abusive.
In one incident, she threw a body-worn camera across a table towards a colleague.
This conduct breached multiple areas of the Standards of Professional Behaviour, including integrity, authority, respect and courtesy, orders and instructions, duties and responsibilities, and discreditable conduct.
Chief Constable Harrington said:
“Police officers are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and conduct.
“The behaviour identified in this case fell far below those standards and was wholly unacceptable.
“The public rightly expects officers to act with respect, follow lawful instructions, and maintain professionalism in all interactions – whether with the public or colleagues.
“We will not tolerate misconduct of this nature and will take fair but decisive action to hold individuals accountable when they let the force and the public down.”
