A LOCAL hospice charity is on the lookout for teams from local businesses to join its next annual charity golf event which raises vital funds for its care.
Havens Hospices’ next Corporate Golf Day will take place on Thursday 7th October at Stock Brook Country Club, CM12 OSP.
The charity was able to hold its first Golf Day event in July since the Coronavirus outbreak which saw 25 teams of businesses take part raising over £10,000. Every pound raised will help the charity continue providing its free essential hospice services such as respite, end of life care, symptom control and bereavement support to adults, children and families across Essex.

Teams of four cost £280 and the programme for the Golf Day begins with tea or coffee and a breakfast roll on arrival, followed by a fun 18-hole round of golf where teams will compete for the winner’s trophy. Teams will also enjoy a two-course meal once they have completed their round of golf and for an additional donation, participants will have a chance to play in a ‘Hole in One’ and ‘Nearest the Pin’ competitions.
Another way to support the charity is for local businesses to sponsor one or more of the 18 holes on the course. An advert for the company will be displayed at each hole that they sponsor.
Lydia Plews, Senior Business Development Officer at Havens Hospices says, “After the successful return of our Corporate Golf Day in July, we can’t wait to welcome back our current and new corporate supporters to our popular Golf Day at the wonderful Stock Brook Country Club so we can continue to raise much needed funds for our hospice care.
“The event is a great way to entertain clients, network with other local businesses or just to have a fun day out with your colleagues whilst supporting a great local cause.”
