LABOUR’S Tony Fish, ward councillor for Grays Riverside, has challenged the Thurrock Tories over the delays to replacement windows in the southern tower blocks. Speaking at the last Full Council, Cllr Fish slammed the delays and called for a reconsideration of the level of compensation.
Speaking to Your Thurrock, Cllr Fish said:
“This scheme was first mooted in 2019, and here we are, years later, with the programme beset by unacceptable delays. The original design did not fit, and this has led to cold winters with the cladding being removed. The cladding was removed before the windows were measured. You couldn’t make it up!

“My residents have been in limbo for too long, and the answers given by the Conservative Portfolio will give them little comfort. It is time for the Tories to step up, get on with it, and stop letting the residents of the tower blocks down.

I live in davall house and still no windows its coming up to winter fedup with scaffolding.
