THIS November, Essex football players, clubs and fans are encouraged to step up and support Movember, a leading global charity dedicated to men’s health.

Movember’s focus remains on three key areas – mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer – and the aim is to help men live happier, healthier and longer lives. Movember is about more than growing moustaches, though that remains a powerful symbol for starting important conversations. Participants can also:

Move for Mental Health: walk or run 60km this month in memory of the 60 men lost to suicide every hour, globally

Host a Mo-Ment: gather friends and family for an event to raise funds and awareness for men’s health
Mo Your Own Way: create a unique challenge – whether climbing a mountain or completing a daring feat – to support the cause

Since its inception in 2003, Movember has funded over 1,250 men’s health projects, re-shaping research, challenging the status quo, and improving how health services reach men. This year, the campaign urges communities to rally together, recognizing that men face unique health challenges. The Essex County FA have a proud tradition of supporting this cause, and are honoured to back this movement, encouraging creative approaches to fundraising and awareness.

Whether growing a moustache or innovating your own way, your efforts help to tackle critical issues and promote conversations which save lives. Let’s continue to make a difference together. Visit www.movember.com to find out more. You can also find the Essex County FA at www.essexfa.com and on X, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok.
