The Millers had opened the scoring through Suley Zuhdu (67′) but they were pegged back by George Gareth Sippetts (83′).
The result leaves Aveley in ninth place, four points off the play off places.
They return to league action on Monday September 15th at home versus Folkestone Invicta.
