THE Trustees of The Fun Walk Trust have invited local charities and community groups to register for this year’s Fun Walk which will take place in September. Supporters can do their walk individually or as part of a group anywhere on any day during the month, to raise money for their charity or community group. The event is free to enter, and support from The Fun Walk team is provided including posters, finisher’s certificates and sponsorship forms – so participants can focus on fundraising.

The Fun Walk’s BONUS POT is funded by sponsors including local businesses and individuals. Last year, the Bonus Pot added bonuses of 35% to the amount raised by local charities and community groups, which meant the 2025 event in total raised over £121,000. This brought the total raised since the first Fun Walk in 2002 to over £1.75 million. We are hoping for a similar, if not larger, bonus this year.
John Baron, Chair of The Fun Walk Trust said:
“Together with the help of our Bonus Pot sponsors, the 2025 Fun Walk raised a record £121,000 for local charities and good causes. This brings the total raised since the first Fun Walk in 2002 to over £1.75 million. Participating in the Fun Walk is a wonderful way to boost unrestricted funding and support local initiatives. Any non-profit organisation which benefits the community may apply to take part. We encourage all to spread the word and apply on The Fun Walk Trust website.”
“We thank last year’s Bonus Pot sponsors who added a 35% bonus to monies raised by local charities and community groups. They include Greater Anglia, Brown & Carroll (London), Sanctuary Housing Association, Tunnelcraft, Butyl Products Group, c2c Rail, One Footstep (The Human Kind Café, Billericay), Equi Ltd, Mr Barrie Stone and other individuals. Their generosity is appreciated by all. We are hoping for an even larger bonus this year.”
