EAST THURROCK have made a key signing with the news that former top scorer has re-signed for them from Chelmsford City.
Higgins netted 16 times in 27 games for the Blue Square Bet South high-flyers, including seven in the Clarets’ run to the second round of the FA Cup but has now had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
Manager Glenn Pennyfather said: “He told me he wasn’t enjoying his football at the moment.
“We’re not in a position to keep players who aren’t 100% committed to the Claret shirt.”
Higgins is expected to slot straight into the squad for the match at Harlow on Saturday.
