A MOGGY nearly suffered a CATastrophe after travelling for miles in the engine of a car after becoming stuck.
The incident happened in Purfleet yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) but it was more like Purr-fleet as fire crews were called to dislodge the moribund moggie.
Fire-officers raced to the scene which resembled Top Gear more than Top Cat.
Firefighter Richard Flower said: “It looked like the cat had crawled in through the wheel arch and it was stuck right in there under the air filter where the battery sits.
“It was pretty fiddly but we took the air filter and battery out and were were able to lead the cat out backwards.
“It didn’t seem any worse for wear, it had a bit of fur missing but was fine aside from that.
“The owner had actually driven the car to the shops and back without realising the cat was there so we think it definitely used up one of its nine lives!”

I wonder if the owner was having KITTENS when they saw it and had to PAWS for thought before ringing the fire brigade and i wonder if they PUSSY footed around when they arrived 🙂
