THURROCK COMMUTERS made a tentative return to work this morning after the snows of the weekend.
There were no reports of any school closures.
South Essex College and Palmer’s College announced on Sunday that they would be open.
The snow had stayed off since Saturday night but with freezing fog, commuters were warned to take care in the difficult conditions.
Thurrock Council gritters had been busy all weekend and were out and about this morning.
Whilst a decision was due to be made as soon as possible regarding refuse collections.
Portfolio holder, cllr Val Morris-Cook said: “I have been in constant contact with my team all weekend. We have had numerous runs and a large number of volunteers out helping.”
No reports of any incidents from the fire and ambulance service.
