IN THE THIRD of our new year interviews, we spoke to shadow leader, cllr Phil Anderson (Cons) about the challenges for 2013 and how sees the role of the Thurrock Conservatives.
They are seen by many as a much more cohesive, organised and credible group than a number of years ago.
Much of this has been put down to the dedication, skills and vision of cllr Anderson.
They create a vital atmosphere in the council chamber and we are sure there will be some robust questions over the next two months as they budget is set in place.
YT spoke to cllr Anderson in the main shopping precinct in St John’s Way, Corringham.
Look and learn Phil! Happy New Year – Govt Cuts will knock Thurrock back. Govt has made little in roads into the debt after two and half years of cuts (Autumn Statement) calls for new National plan. £400bn in Quantitive easing has done little. Bank lending at all time low. Goodbye Tories / Lib Dems in 2015!
The last Labour government increased public expenditure by £352 billion per year in their time in government. They borrowed an extra £500 billion to fund that spending. Now there current answer is to do the same again to solve the problems we are currently having. That equates to trillions of pounds of additional spending and what did we get for it? Mass immigration and near bankruptcy. It’s akin to someone sticking their finger in a plug socket and getting an electric shock and then going back and doing it again and again. Nobody that has any sense of sanity would vote for that to happen again.
Mr Anderson I have watched the above with great interest, I also watched the planning meeting last Thursday night you and Shane Hebbs political point making exercise, like yourself I can’t wait to scrutinise the cost to the rate payer of Thurrock to which you have incurred upon them. When Squibb and Davies win their Case. I suggest very strongly that you keep politics out of planning considerations as you should have learnt by Shane Hebb being taken off the planning because of he’s involvement with this application of Squibbs and I think personally you also showed your predetermination but as your not an honourable man at all , it would not matter to you would it. This is what happens when people like yourself totally forget what they are there for and sit there for the best part of the evening involved with political Gerrymandering
