J.MURPHY & Sons Limited has announced that the next phase of works is due to start on 1st July, with the closure of the Southend bound off-slip of the A13 /A1014 junction and will last approximately four weeks.

The approved diversion route will see traffic continue to the next junction at Five Bells and return to the A13 /A1014 junction via the London-bound side of the A13.

Additionally, the slip road onto Southend Road from the eastbound bound side of The Manorway, will be diverted for one day, on Monday 24 June, and will impact users of Southend Road in Stanford-le-Hope. The diversion route will be clearly signposted.

Diversion routes have been approved by Thurrock Council and are designed to provide a safe alternative road, capable of handling an equivalent or higher level of road traffic.

The works are being undertaken to increase the capacity of the A13/A1014 junction by widening it from the current two lanes to three lanes.

Road users are reminded to subscribe to the email alerts system on www.a13roadworks.co.uk, which will provide advanced warning of changes to traffic management, allowing them to better plan their journey. Diversion routes will be signposted and kept to a minimum. Road users should plan their journey and allow extra time whilst the restrictions are in place.
