THANKS to Jim Robertson (43) and Jack Plane (30), Belhus 3rd X1 were able to post a competitive total of 171 for 7 in this 40-overs match. In the run-chase, Chingford lost 9 wickets before reaching their target as number five batsman Raza top-scored with a fine 62 (the second highest scorer being ‘Mr Extras’ who contributed 35 runs to the total). Spinners Cliff Cansdale with 3 for 20 and Mark Fogg with 2 for 7 were the pick of the Belhus bowlers as Chingford just managed to creep over the winning-line in an exciting match.

Belhus 1st XI 144-2

In this away fixture at Overton Drive, the Belhus Sunday 1st XI registered their first win of the season as Matthew Williams, Jim Banner and Suhail Shahid took 2 wickets apiece to dismiss Wanstead for 140. In their reply, Belhus chased down the runs quite easily thanks to 62 from Danny Joyce and 59 from Dan Norris to secure a comfortable victory by 8 wickets.

Horton Kirby 157-8

Belhus 2nd XI travelled to Kent for this regular annual fixture against Horton Kirby. Batting first, Greg Mendham was the star of the Belhus batsmen with a cultured 53 that enabled his side to reach a respectable total of 206 for 8 from their 40 overs. After tea, Horton Kirby struggled to master some accurate bowling by Belhus as debutant Brett Page took 3 for 45 and Belhus eased home to a 49-runs win.
