Dumped rubbish is the shame of Thurrock

THURROCK resident Matt Harris loves running in the Mardyke Valley. So he was sickened when he came across the rubbish that has sat there for weeks now.

Multi-media guru Matt put a small film together to illustrate his disgust and frustration.

Our blogger, Neil Davies also pointed it out.

To be honest, we can’t recall if it is Thurrock Council’s responsibility or Davy Down or Mardyke Trust or whoever. We will endeavour to find out why this dumped rubbish has been allowed to sit here for so long.

  1. that is disgusting this amount of fly tipping needs investigating to find who dumped it cameras need putting up in thurrock fly tipping hot spots well done matt for sharing

  2. I’ve contacted Thurrock Council and this section of the path is on the Highways Agency land. It seems they are investigating it with the Environment Agency. Hopefully they Highways agency will have enough cameras around to have some evidence of who has done this as from the amount you can see it wasn’t a one off but must have been repeated visits. This makes my blood boil !

  3. It was obvious that fly-tipping of this sort would increase when our council imposed more stringent regulations and higher fees for using their Amenity Dump in Buckingham Hill Road.
