Civil liberties campaigner slams Thurrock MP Jackie Doyle Price over Trust remarks

A CIVIL liberties campaigner, Ella Vine has slammed Thurrock MP, Jackie Doyle Price over her claim that the anti-racism organisation Trust is not fit for purpose.

Ms Vine, who was a Labour candidate for Little Thurrock Rectory in the May local elections.

Ms Vine said:

“I find Ms Doyle-Price’s MP comments in her recent article for Thurrock Gazette from July 31st outrageous. In it, the MP for Thurrock suggests that the only umbrella organisation in Thurrock for BME communities, a registered charity, Thurrock Racial Unity Support Taskgroup, in short commonly called TRUST, should disappear. This charity supports most vulnerable black and ethnic communities (BME) in Thurrock, including refugees, asylum seekers, victims of domestic violence and victims of hate crime from BME communities. Ms Doyle-Price allegedly calls for withdrawing funding from this charity and for its closure. Ms Doyle-Price wrote: ’That said, would anyone miss TRUST? It is currently in receipt of more than £40,000 a year to strive for community cohesion. I am not aware of any positive outcomes of its work, though I am aware of problems with governance. I don’t believe it is fit for purpose, so there is an easy saving to be made’.

The comment above has caused public outrage. I am from Thurrock’s BME community and a former trustee of TRUST. I find Ms Doyle-Price’s comments inappropriate, unprofessional. I believe these comments could cause tensions within the community of Thurrock.

I suspect these comments could have been written with the aim to encourage a debate amongst Thurrock’s constituents whether ethnic minorities in Thurrock deserve help from this charity and whether public money from Thurrock Council should or should not be directed to help those communities. For these reasons I have asked the parliamentary Commissioner for Standards to investigate. I have also complained to David Cameron. This seemingly trivial issue could lead to funding withdrawal, criticism and closure this so much needed charity in Thurrock, leaving the most vulnerable people and families in most need in Thurrock with no help, all as a result of a call of an MP.

I am a professional charity worker and have worked for many years in this sector. I have founded, led and chaired many third sector organisations. I am also a professional fundraiser. In 2013, I was chosen as one in 25 top young fundraisers in the country by Civil Society and ‘Fundraising’ magazine.

In my entire career I have never seen a case where a MP calls for any charity to be closed or to have its funding withdrawn. Not even once. What shocked me in Thurrock’s case is that Ms Doyle-Price targeted only TRUST, which is the only umbrella charity for BME communities in Thurrock. I believe this is unprofessional and does not sit in the remit of work of a MP. It is alleged that Ms Doyle-Price’s choice to call for an end of funding to and an end of existence to TRUST as the only charity she mentioned, was not based on merit but on some other intentions. Additionally it is unknown and doubtful that Ms Doyle-Price prior to writing this article has undertaken borough-wide comprehensive evaluation of voluntary services and organisations to be in a position to target TRUST only.

Then there is a question whether Ms Doyle-Price had at heart to best for the people of Thurrock. TRUST benefits every one of us, not just BME communities, as it provides prevention and early intervention from problem escalation and saves public money. In this case, I believe that Ms Doyle-Price didn’t act in the interest of the Thurrock’s large BME community and in the interest of Thurrock’s constituents as a whole by calling for this charity to be closed.

As a charity worker I know exactly how much effort, time and hard work takes to run a charity and its services, especially in this difficult financial climate of funding cuts and where there are more people and families needing help as a result of cuts. It is exceptionally difficult for charities like TRUST, which provide services for a not a popular cause.

Ethnic minorities funding is usually right at the bottom of funders’ priorities. Many charities do struggle, but that’s not to say that their services are not valuable. I don’t think that Ms Doyle-Price comments did to TRUST’s employees and volunteers who work hard to give the most to Thurrock’s residents with limited funding. Anyone who has given their time to a charity will know how hard it could be to keep services and a charity running. Those people at TRUST deserve recognition, not such inexcusable comments from their MP.

I think that Ms Doyle-Price has overused her power and crossed a line here. Charities are not a political meat for the powerful and should not be. In this case, unfortunately, it is an example where the powerful try to hinder the efforts for the most vulnerable residents of Thurrock. I find it appalling”.

Ms Doyle-Price has responded:

“In respect of TRUST, I have been moved to comment because of the threat of cuts to the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB). At a time when taxpayers money is constrained we need to ensure that every pound we spend produces a positive outcome and is value for money. The services delivered by CAB certainly meet that test.

“In respect of TRUST, Your Thurrock has reported some worrying issues regarding governance which would suggest that Its ability to meet the value for money test is questionable

“As a community leader with a belief in achieving community cohesion amongst our now very diverse community in Thurrock, I am surprised that in four years of being Member of Parliament, I have never been contacted by TRUST. This contrasts with other voluntary organisations who have been only too keen to tell me about what they do. As they should. If there is a good story to tell then tell it and support will follow.

“All bodies who take public money must be transparent about how it is spent and what positive outcomes they achieve so that we can judge whether they are delivering the objective we are funding them for. That is accountability and no organisation which received taxpayers money should be immune from it.

  1. Jackie your tactic for geting the UKIP vote has backfired.

“Catching the bus bends Jackie over his knee and spanks her good and proper. Who’s a naughty girl then”

  2. JDP is doing a good job if she has ‘human rights/civil liberties’ idiots like Ella Vine moaning about cutting dunding to a charity which only helps a miniscule proportion of the boroughs population and actually hinders integratin rather than encourages it. Charities like TRUST should not be using taxpayers money, nor should any charity for that matter, so the less of these dividing charities the better.

  3. The council has more or less abandoned this group. Recent and past arguments about its funding and the way this organisation works would more than suggest that it is not fit for purpose. It has long been seen as a jobs for the boys and girls organisation which does very little. If there are any benefits to anyone other than those employed by it and directly benefiting in that way, then it is so far under the radar, it’s stealthier than the latest stealth technology available.

It should be gotten rid of. It’s a crappy idea that came out of the London borough’s and as a result of the Labour party’s ridiculous legislation surrounding targets etc. Money was thrown at these types of organisations in London and they were rife with cronyism and fraud.

We had community cohesion in Thurrock some years ago. I don’t think it’s appropriate for someone from Poland to start lecturing us on it. We managed it quite well without you or TRUST thanks very much. You say you’re a professional charity worker. Isn’t that a contradiction in terms.

  4. A REPORT into a complaint that a Thurrock councillor incited racial hatred by using the term “Big fat gypsy cesspit” in a press release, has yet to be submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
The original complaint against Corringham and Fobbing councillor Mark Coxshall was made in August.
YT has spoken to Essex Police who have told us that they are still in the process of obtaining witness statements.
Cllr Coxshall made the comments in relation to a planning application on a traveller site in Corringham . He said that there was a concern that the area could “become a cross between my big fat gipsy cesspit and Shameless”.
The councillor refutes claims his comments were racist and said the travellers had acted illegally.

I believe Jackie Doyle Price knows quite a lot about racialism

  5. This All about extremism.
Ella Vine is a very good person not idiot like Bernard87 wrote.
this is a lady with golden heart. Person which spending much her life to help to the others.
So if is possible to run a organisation to help to others I’m proud of our council is doing it.
even if I’m never in use.

  6. Who are you calling an idiot, Bernard87? You think Jackie Doyle-Price is doing a good job? Are you her PR agent?

Jackie Doyle-Price is the worst MP Thurrock has ever had. She’s rude, ignorant and dismissive. She’s unapproachable and treats her constituents with sheer and utter contempt. Check out her snooty and dismissive replies on Twitter.

Jackie Doyle-Price blocks people on Twitter if they oppose or disagree with her views.

Any decent MP would fight for their constituents, not against them which is what Jackie Doyle-Price regularly does. Rather than fight for the people of Thurrock and defend Thurrock Council, she supports government spending cuts then attacks Thurrock Council for cutting services.

Jackie Doyle-Price should explain to her constituents why Thurrock Council is cutting services: Government spending cuts rather than criticise and attack Thurrock Council.

This is yet another example of Jackie Doyle-Price not fighting for the people of Thurrock. The latest Thurrock poll released by Ashcroft was CON 14%, LAB 39%, UKIP 47%. Jackie Doyle-Price won’t win a second term in Thurrock because she has done nothing for her constituents.

It’s clear, Bernard87, that Ella Vine isn’t the idiot; people who support an out of touch and despicable Tory are the real idiots.

  7. I would be interested in what Ella Vine would cut to save money.

Labour nationally have said that they would continue with what the coalition are doing, they know they have no choice so all the two Eds talk is nothing more than hot air that their supporters seem to be buying.

Councils in general are too bloated, have too much staff, too many councillors and senior managers which Labour spent the best part of a decade increasing to give more of their voters a job and as a way of winning votes through the public sector.

Until I see a credible answer from Labour and their supporters like Ella Vine about dealing with cuts I will continue to think of sound bites such as this as typical left wing nonsense, in this case trying to solidify the BME vote as Labour are running scared that some of Thurrocks Asian and African community actually do vote (shock horror) Conservative.

  8. Once again, Bernard87 conveniently ignores the facts and takes Jackie Doyle-Price’s side, then regurgitates typical right-wing rhetoric.

Thurrock Council has had its budget cut by the government, yet Bernard87 blames Labour and criticises Thurrock Council rather than condemn the government for cutting Thurrock’s budget.

Siding in with Jackie Doyle-Price and not condemning our Tory-led government which you won’t have a bad word said about does you no credibility whatsoever. Just like Jackie Doyle-Price, you’re out of touch.

Ella Vine is a charity worker and cares about Thurrock. You ought to be ashamed of yourself for condemning her and calling her an idiot. What do you do for the people of Thurrock apart from demean Labour and UKIP voters and slag off charity workers?

  9. If you think I am a huge government supporter you are sadly mistaken and many regualr posters will tell you how critical I have been nor have I demeaned UKIP. I agree with nearly everything they say.

I cannot stand Labour nor their constant hypocrisy.

My view is that rather than ‘slamming’ the MP or the government say how you would do things differently. We already know that the next Labour government will do exactly the same thing to make savings. One wonders who Thurrock Council are going to blame then for having to make cuts as it will be their party at the helm.

As for this “charity”, if its relying on taxpayers money for the majority of its funding then it fails to be a charity. If it is so strongly needed then perhaps folk like the Mockney Rebel, Ella Vine and other TRUST supporters can put their own money into it to make sure that it continues its ‘good work’.

  10. Not sure if people know this but Osborne is actually sticking to Darling’s spending plan, however Osborne has implemented spending cuts much harsher than Darling planned to. Had Labour won the 2010 election the country would have faced cuts including welfare reform (which I support).

I think it’s wrong to slam a charity worker yet defend the actions of Jackie Doyle-Price. That said, the people of Thurrock will speak at the ballot box in 9 months time – and current polls suggest Thurrock will be a battleground between Labour and UKIP.

May the best party win, though I don’t think UKIP is the solution to Thurrock’s woes. I canvass with Thurrock Labour most Saturdays and have speaker to dozens people on the doorstep. Many are floating voters and voted UKIP in the May elections to send a message to CON/LAB/LIB but they don’t know who to vote for in next year’s General Election.

Reason: People have become disengaged in politics.

  11. Labour Councillor Speight recently said that funding to TRUST was nothing to do with the council. CVS will decide what funding they get from the pot of money they receive. Presumably Labour supporters would like to see Transvol scrapped, an organisation that provides tangible and obvious benefits to Thurrock residents regardless of their race or ethnicity, so TRUST can continue to do nothing of any relevance for the vast majority of Thurrock residents and continue to operate as an organisation that has race at the heart of its ethos.

Thurrock Labour group have disowned TRUST, so should the rest of Thurrock residents. They are a crony organisation. There is no justification for providing money to an organisation that will only supposedly help immigrant groups within Thurrock. If immigrants come to this country, they should be expected to use the same agencies and resources the rest of Thurrock residents have to use to solve their domestic, economic and other issues they may have. If they believe they should be entitled to additional resources simply because they are immigrants, then I suggest they have lost touch with reality and should be thankful for the small mercies they receive like being allowed to remain in this country, receive free services they have not contributed to and housing that the British people need for themselves.

Ella Vine clearly has no concept of charity or what most people involved with charities do. They volunteer their time. They are not paid for it. They do not describe themselves as professional charity workers. She is among many on the left that see charities as another opportunity not to have to do as others do and work in the real world. The money she receives is money that is not going to those that it should be. This is a growing trend among the trendy left who seem to see themselves as the hero’s and heroine’s of the needy so why shouldn’t they take the money. They have no concept of charity. They should look the word up.

The majority of people in this country are sick and tired of hearing the bleating’s of the left about the poor immigrants. That’s why the majority of people in Thurrock support UKIP. There is no benefit of mass immigration to this country and Ella Vine, an immigrant to this country, would do well to shut her face and not lecture us on cohesion when it is her and others like her that appear to be the largest obstacle to that being achieved.

  12. Right-wing xenophobes forget that immigrants helped rebuild this country after the war. They forget immigrants have played a pivotal role in the NHS. And they forget immigrants do the jobs we lazy Brits won’t do because we see them as beneath us.

If Tim Aker is elected as Thurrock’s first ever UKIP MP next year, what will he do to appease some of his xenophobic UKIP voters? Send the immigrants back home or ethnically cleanse Thurrock?

Immigrants come to this country for a better life. They work hard and pay their taxes and if you were in their position you would do the same.

  13. And you are a typical left wing fascist. Please don’t bang on about the war. Millions of British people had just died to ensure Western Europe remained free. Then we gave them jobs and homes and healthcare. Was it too much to expect that this country needed a large number of people to come here after a war that killed millions through no fault of ours. Typical left wing response.

Immigrants, like Ella Vine are economic immigrants from failed economies. They apparently come here to do the low paid jobs we don’t want to do. All the minimum wage jobs. If that’s the case, they pay very little in tax and are net recipients of welfare and public services. What they pay in does not compensate for what they take out, check your figures.

Ella Vine is an economic migrant and an opportunist that has the audacity to come from a country like Poland and lecture us on civil liberties. Well I’m sorry but we don’t need her to lecture us so best she gets on with her own life and shut up.

You seem to think that this country owes Eastern and Southern Europe a living. We don’t. They decided they wanted to be part of the Euro and the EU. That did not entitle them to move here until your illustrious money grabbing leader decided this country needed mass immigration. As his speech writer put it, the plan was to get rid of the old, hideously white, retrograde England and replace it with a multicultural society. And you want to talk about ethnic cleansing.

We’ve not just come out of a world war. We don’t need millions of immigrants. They need us and our jobs, houses, schools and welfare state. It’s a one way street in their favour. Tell me which of the European countries benefiting from this country now have bailed us out in the past. Let’s start with the Polish. 130,000 arrived here after world war 2. What global event required over 1 million to come here in the last 10 years. Could it be that their own country was bankrupt and they needed us more than we needed them.

You’re an apologist for Tony Blair the warmonger and British hater and his policies. Every main party now accepts the damage done by Labour’s mass immigration policy. A prominent former marxist and left wing economist has just written a report saying there is no benefit from mass immigration, yet you still refer to anyone that disagree’s with your view as a xenophobe. Grow up and join the real world, not the fantasy world of left wing students and the pathetic UAF fascists.

  14. ”Please don’t bang on about the war. Millions of British people had just died to ensure Western Europe remained free. Then we gave them jobs and homes and healthcare. Was it too much to expect that this country needed a large number of people to come here after a war that killed millions through no fault of ours.”
Do you have an actual numbers? Do you know how many people, not necessarily English/British, lost their lives fighting for freedom of England? Like Ghurkas-left on their own now… And with all honesty, without outside help (foreigners) this country had a very little chance to secure safety.
”Immigrants, like Ella Vine are economic immigrants from failed economies. They apparently come here to do the low paid jobs we don’t want to do. All the minimum wage jobs. If that’s the case, they pay very little in tax and are net recipients of welfare and public services. What they pay in does not compensate for what they take out, check your figures.”
I did check the figures, for 100% of taxes from Polish nationals there is 30% of it taken BY Polish nationals back in benefits. And that is the lowest of ANY nation living in UK.
”Ella Vine is an economic migrant and an opportunist that has the audacity to come from a country like Poland and lecture us on civil liberties. Well I’m sorry but we don’t need her to lecture us so best she gets on with her own life and shut up.”
You get very personal with Ella Vine, you don’t discuss an issue but her-what is the reason for it? You just identifying all immigration with her?
And I don’t get what do you mean about country like Poland? Do you know that first country in Europe and second in the world (after US) with the constitution is POLAND?=civil rights… Read about it and history of that country, you might me very surprised.
What everyone seems to miss is WHY CAB already lost massive part of the funding? Who managed the cuts of legal aid etc.? And also, until 2008 everyone was happy about hard working and ethical employees from new EU countries. I might be wrong, but responsibility for the crisis lay with banks? It has very little to do with immigration, but it is a very easy slogan to shout to get votes.
Every political party just shout now, what needs to be done is hard work and a bullet-proof plan. It will take years and it will take a toll on everyone, but we need to stop to wait for a miracle to happen, it won’t.

  15. 130.000 Poles arrive here DURING the war. Most of them were forced back to face death from Russia as traitors.

In the last 10 years .2.2 million Brits moved to another EU country=works both ways as you see.
In Spain, if you have over 50 residents of language other than Spanish, council has a legal obligation to employ full time translator or interpreter to help them in the community.I don’t see it here. And guess which language is mostly required in Spanish councils?

  16. If I created a civil liberties organisation, created a website, appointed myself as its leader and the only civil liberties work I had done was an online petition with 30 signatures could I call myself a Civil Liberties Campaigner? Hardly any substance behind the bloated spin and hype.

  17. Is a review of TRUST needed yes. Should people defend TRUST against an MP and Local Assn with a right wing race agenda (sorry Immigration policy) yes. £25 million cuts so far – £30 million to come. Tories are laughing at the people of UK. Cuts via Council Tax are a another poll tax.

Another easy saving, would be for Jackie Price to stand down as I am not aware of any positive outcomes that have been achieved through her work, and I believe her to be not fit for purpose, she is also in my belief is a very bitter and twisted individual , who has an over inflated opinion of herself .

Every time this thing opens its mouth it is with the unique desire to offend, as is evident in all of her comments, I will be glad when the election comes round to be rid of this individual, what a pathetic sad individual the MP has become

You see Jackie it is quite easy to be vexatious like yourself

  19. It was the Labour party in their last stint in government that refused entry to Gurkha’s and their families after they finished they very distinguished service in their regiment, which was an absolute disgrace considering they were allowing the rest of the world to turn up here. Joanna Lumley had to out the minister in charge at the time to get the rules changed. Very charitable. Perhaps they’re not natural Labour voters.

If you want figures on WW2 casualties, go and look them up, they’re freely available. So tell me Aaarcia, who, apart from the USA were the major contributors to the invasion forces in 1944. The Spanish, French, Italians, Dutch? Who?

Your benefits and tax take figures are spurious. If they were available in that level of accuracy, they would be withheld by the government for fear of sparking riots. The fact of the matter is anyone on the minimum wage, regardless of ethnic background, are net recipients of welfare benefits and public services, particularly if they have children, which most immigrants seem to have lot’s of. How many English people live in Poland, for example, and send welfare benefits back to this country. Perhaps you could let us know. You miss the larger picture on this. I reckon I’ve paid somewhere between £250,000 to £300,000 in income tax and national insurance in my working life in this country and I am entitled to no benefits because of the money I have in the bank. I look after myself. Don’t go there because it’s not an argument you will win.

Ella Vine is an economic migrant and opportunist. If I went to Poland I would not even contemplate lecturing a member of the Polish government, who was simply saying what most people think. She is a nobody and has no right to lecture anyone on anything in this country. If she has an issue with this country, she should go home to Poland.

You talk about the constitutions of Poland and the USA From what I can understand Poland as a nation state didn’t really exist until 1918 because of various wars and invasions. I’m sure you’ll know more about that than me. In know the history of this country is sketchy andcould barely live up to that of the USA and Poland. What can we expect of such a fledgling democracy.

The last part of your comment I don’t get. I doubt anyone from this country sent Poles to be executed by Russians. If they were executed by Russians, perhaps you should blame the Russians. And the very reason why TRUST should have it’s funding cut is so it can be given to other voluntary services that actually do something for people rather than just stick it in their back pocket.

The population of this country has grown by over 7 million in 12 years, almost entirely due to immigration. The people of this country have had enough. If immigrants feel aggrieved by that sentiment, feel free to leave.

  20. Incidentally I too think that Jackie Doyle Price has largely been a waste of space as an MP. I don’t recall her getting involved in local debate, except on twaddle, sorry twitter, where it would appear she simply abuses people. She doesn’t deserve to win next year because she has said or done nothing that is relevant to local people.

  21. I reckon I’ve paid somewhere between £250,000 to £300,000 in income tax

Is that all, what you’re only doing part-time ?

  22. We can’t all earn what you earn Superman. Maybe if we weren’t such a soft touch, those genuinely in need could get the help they deserve instead of having to squabble and fight for every penny. If you’re going to get abusive, please let the editor know in advance.

  23. Steven also accuses me of being a Tony Blair apologist. Wrong again, Steven. In my opinion Tony Blair is responsible for the decline of the Labour Party and the reason why we have lost so many voters to UKIP and the Green Party. Blair repositioned Labour to centre-left this disenfranchising tens of thousands of voters.

Margaret Thatcher once said Tony Blair was her best creation. She wasn’t wrong.

So, Steven, I suggest you get off that pedestal and stop casting aspersions and right-wing nonsense.

  24. Why should immigrants leave, Steven? If you don’t like immigration and how this country has evolved then emigrate – and take Nigel Farage with you. Problem solved.

  25. Steven

The way you get yourself worked up, if you’re not careful you will go over before you retire

  26. Ed
Already have retired but the company is still running and smelting aluminium for export

Didn’t want to say my age but properly around the age of No voice

  27. Superman,

Jackie Doyle-Price will go down in history as the worst MP Thurrock has ever had. A few years ago she told the people of Thurrock – her constituents – to feel sorry for the bankers yet she voted for welfare cuts and supports government spending cuts.

Jackie Doyle-Price only won the seat off Labour by a staggering 92 votes. Since then she and her venomous partner Tory Councillor Mark Coxshall have successfully alienated Tory and Labour voters in Thurrock. She’ll lose her seat next year and only has herself to blame.

  28. @TheMockneyRebel

I am in total agreement with you , but I think she’s only the gun the bullets are loaded by the poison dwarf

  29. Superman you must be Alfredo Barrios, President and CEO of Rio Tinto Alcan who operate the only Aluminium smelting plant in the UK.

  30. Ed

When I was quite young I started a company which was situated quite near to the East India Dock complex in East London, I then relocated to Barking and eventually located quite near to Rainham, and then sold the company but occasionally maintain a retainer, in respect of technical input and marketing techniques specifically cast aluminium products from LM27 to LM30 for the leaching of the oxidisers in iron and steel production methods in the form of fluxes with the addition of silicone added to promote free flow in this production

  31. ”If you want figures on WW2 casualties, go and look them up, they’re freely available. So tell me Aaarcia, who, apart from the USA were the major contributors to the invasion forces in 1944. The Spanish, French, Italians, Dutch? Who?”

Check the Division 303 and who shot down most of the Messerschmidt’s during the Battle of England. By the way-none of the Polish pilots were invited for the parade. And that answer your next point- about Russia. In Yalta and Tehran Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin decided on leaving Poland under Russian restrictions. And all agreed on repatriation of solders and/or political enemies of the communist system back to Polish territory. Everyone understood consequences. You would be send to Siberia or shot/hanged. It was very and only political game. Was it fair? Well, all Poles were promised freedom if they would help…

”Your benefits and tax take figures are spurious. How many English people live in Poland, for example, and send welfare benefits back to this country.”

Figures I wrote about are widely available for anyone who is interested. We do not live in the military run regime to have any information of public value withheld from us. I don’t think that welfare work the way you have describe it, as far as I know, full time hours on min wage would get you above the set limit for eligibility to receive benefits , And I do not agree with sending benefits to someone who is abroad, or claim on the kids who never even been here. But it seems like you think Poles are one and only nation who milks the system.I think that’s where all eyes should turn, as I think you could find scroungers in every nation and they should face life without any kind of welfare!

”Ella Vine is an economic migrant and opportunist. If I went to Poland I would not even contemplate lecturing a member of the Polish government, who was simply saying what most people think. She is a nobody and has no right to lecture anyone on anything in this country. If she has an issue with this country, she should go home to Poland.”

You have every right to choose any country as your new home. Then you have a right of the free speech and opportunity to join any political party of your choice. You have a chance to change what you feel like is wrong. So does she. It is very disrespectful to insult someone only for their passion to do something about it. I don’t know you, but I would not tell you you are nothing as I have been taught better.

”You talk about the constitutions of Poland and the USA From what I can understand Poland as a nation state didn’t really exist until 1918 because of various wars and invasions. I’m sure you’ll know more about that than me. In know the history of this country is sketchy andcould barely live up to that of the USA and Poland. What can we expect of such a fledgling democracy.”

Thank you! And yes, I do know ”a bit” more. Again, all that information can be easily found! Just one pointer-first written proof of Poland is dated 996. And the First European Constitution 1791. 1918 is the year of the end of Great War and Poland got freedom after over 100 years of partitions. But even then, Polish Universities provided high level education, language was developing. I never said that democracy here is ”fledgling”. There is great history behind, many amazing centuries, events, decisions! (Henry VIII my personal fav.). But it is nice to know something about others as well. I think.

”And the very reason why TRUST should have it’s funding cut is so it can be given to other voluntary services that actually do something for people rather than just stick it in their back pocket”

I think that you miss the point here. TRUST pockets money? Tell me, what organisation get profit from £40.000 a year? That’s nothing! Check what other charities work on and how much profit-actual profit is made! Where people will turn to? Where will they get help? There is no other organisation in tis area able to provide this kind of service!

” She doesn’t deserve to win next year because she has said or done nothing that is relevant to local people”

    agree!

  32. You specifically said your company smelted aluminium but when I pointed out the UK only has one Aluminium smelter it now makes cast aluminium products! So confusing.

  33. Aaricia just to clarify the Polish contribution in the Battle of Britain. There were 2353 British pilots, 574 from other countries including 145 Poles. The Polish pilots claimed 201 of the 1,887 aircraft shot down.

  34. Only an end-user would specialise in Novell injection processes in aluminium. Industrial Reclamation processes would inevitably always produce large ingots from sloping earth furnaces in reclamation processes and by adding different elements to the process e.g silicone magnesium oxidised iron manganese zinc small and trace amounts of copper would change the composition and grade of the aluminium to be used by the end-user requirements

This made up the processes I was involved with when I was producing the de-oxidises when I was in business for myself

  35. Superman someone who really was involved in the Aluminium industry would never make such a silly school girl error of claiming to run an Aluminium smelter. They would know what a smelter was. But now you claim not to have had an aluminium smelter but just produced de-oxidizers. All very confusing!

  36. Ed
Not that I have to explain anything to you, but when you smelt aluminium in 98% of all cases it would be on a sloping earth reverberating furnace and the charge would be typically made up of reclaimed scrap aluminium, you can either make ingots or de-oxidisation cubes more commonly known as de-ox

The cubes are specifically made to be put into large Bessemer type iron and steel producing furnaces to purify the melt through a fluxing process which would result in a purification process and then floating to the surface of the material which is called slag
These cubes are typically half a kilo to a kilo in size
The typical holding capacity of a sloping earth furnace is anywhere between five and 15 ton you need a continuous casting process which is not cheap Ed what you know about melting aluminium I’ve already forgotten get Mike to email me and I’ll send you an ingot as a paperweight

  37. But I digress the story is about the evilness of Jackie Price and her partner the poison dwarf, what part has she played in Thurrock’s evolution absolutely nothing,
, due to the government she supports at this present time and the cuts they incorporate on ordinary people, but not themselves, we now have a situation which is indefensible and all we get out of the local MP is one of condemnation of local politics and blame against the Labour run authority of Thurrock for doing what it can to rob Peter and pay Paul due to her parties cuts
She is the worst MP Thurrock has ever known I think everybody except for Barnard, the blind would agree with this fact she is a walking disaster and a political nightmare, her comments and her mannerisms and her blogs are a detriment to herself and fall far short of the serving MP she is uncouth arrogant unsympathetic and aloft, especially when you consider she come from humble beginnings but now feels everybody else should be humble to her, this is exactly what happens when you forget where you come from you inevitably return their with no friends what a shame.
Jackie Price what goes around comes around and believe me you look very round

  38. Superman if you really did work in the Aluminium industry you would know the process of smelting was the extraction of Aluminium from the ore dug from the ground not melting down scrap Aluminium or melting down Aluminium ingots to produce Aluminium products. Also if you worked in the industry you should know the difference between Silicone and Silicon. Such school girl errors from someone who apparently spent their life in the industry!

  39. Isn’t the Bessemer type iron and steel producing furnace obsolete and phased out in the UK in 1900 (i.e. over 100 years ago), phased out of Western Europe by the 1960s and phased out of Eastern Europe by the 1980s – nobody uses them anymore?

  40. Aaricia I’m sure your english is better than my polish. Please, It’s not a good thing to teach granny to suck eggs. You are clearly not from this country and I applaud you for your english but, as you may have guessed, WW2 was quite big in the curriculum of this country and it has nothing to do wi the current level of immigration to this country at all. People make up all kinds of weird excuses for mass immigration. The thing that counts is that it was a deliberate policy of the last Labour government. End of story on that one.

Thanks for your concern about my health Superman. I can assure you I’m not ready for the overcoat yet.

Mockney rebel, it’s widely accepted that modern fascism came out of Italy when Mussolini formed the Italian fascists. Perhaps you should go and check his previous political leanings to understand where fascism has its roots. You might want to check out the background of the one with the tash while you’re at it. You are a left wing fascist.

  41. Steven complains about immigrants, makes racist and xenophobic comments and attacks Ella Vine because she’s Polish.

I’ve defended Ella Vine and the immigrants Steven has denigrated, yet according to him I’m a fascist.

Just proves how pathetic and uneducated Steven is. He hasn’t got a clue. Typical right-wing xenophobe who probably supports the BNP and EDL.

  42. @ Superman

Jackie Doyle-Price was her charming self on Twitter last night, attacking people left, right and centre just for questioning her and opposing her warped views. She is one of many reasons why the Conservative Party has had no majority for 22 years.

  43. ”Aaricia I’m sure your english is better than my polish. Please, It’s not a good thing to teach granny to suck eggs. You are clearly not from this country and I applaud you for your english but, as you may have guessed, WW2 was quite big in the curriculum of this country and it has nothing to do wi the current level of immigration to this country at all. With the war subject-you mentioned 130.000 Poles and WWII. I wanted to clarify that for you. There is lot about a subject in Norman Davis books. History is different for every side of the conflict.
Yes, I do speak Polish, and few other languages as well. What is your point?
You think that I am not from this country… I am not supposed to know history? Not be interested in current affairs? I am sick and tired of people with such a narrow minds. My whole adult life I paid my taxes here, in UK. And not from the minimum wage. Why I should be denied my right to defend my status here? Why I should only get a low paid job? And be branded as some kind of lower value citizen? It is my home, it is my right place.
Nobody here value ”MP” in question, but main problem is a Polish person trying to influence community.Do you really think that all immigrants in this area are from Poland? And that every single one of them is without any skills and education? Cheap labour you seem to describe was tried in US, and failed miserably! Let me remind you-2004/5/6/7, check economy status in UK. Check amounts of benefits received by new EU members in the last 10 years. I think Poles are the easy target for big-mouthed people. This is wrong, very wrong.

  44. Mock baby I really don’t care about Ella Vine. It’s the principle. Defend who you like, whenever you want. That’s your right to do so. I won’t, I don’t and the reason for that is obvious. In 10 years time you and Ella will be looking back and saying “oh shit”. Carry on my left wing fascist. Keep calling me a racist, a xenophobe. I only found out last week it wasn’t Spanish for Phoebe. Do you understand mockney. Call me Judy Garland if you want, it doesn’t change the truth.

Ella, sorry Aaricia, give it up girl.

  45. You’re the one whose posting racist and xenophobic comments. You’re the one who has an issue with Ella Vine’s nationality. And you’re the one bellyaching about immigration.

Take a very good look at yourself before you cast aspersions and brand me a fascist when the only fascist here is you. Go figure.
